We live in a very small space…and sometimes we can’t get outside to hoop due to rain or heat. So we hoop inside! The photo above is in our main living area in the RV…the girls are playing with my poi hoops, but I am also able to waist and shoulder hoop with up to a 38 inch hoop.
Sometimes after everyone falls asleep at night, I hoop hoop hoop in my little space until I “work it all out” π I love the release it provides after a long day. It’s even more fun to use my LED hoop inside in the dark…my own personal light show.
I do miss having a large indoor private space to hoop in whenever I want. I got spoiled at my parents house this summer with their large basement and mirrors! But I will take my hoop time however I can get it now (even if it means I am the spectacle of the RV park).
Where do YOU hoop when you can’t hoop outside?
So far I’ve only hooped in our living room, beside the bed in our big master bedroom, and once in our backyard. At the moment I’m still learning the most basic stuff. I can keep a hoop going on my waist and spinning around my upraised hand…but manage to hit myself in the face every time when trying to transition from one to the other, and forget about anything else just yet!! The other day I did manage to get my baby up sitting on my shoulders and get my hoop going on my waist…which delighted the little guy to no end!!
Should be interesting to see where and how I will hoop when we head out on the road in a couple years. Hmm, should an open area for hooping inside our rig be a must have? π
I used to be able to hoop in the living room until B lost her caution and now tries to walk face first into the moving hoop. In the beginning she thought it was a game to run the perimeter. Now she just charges at me. So hooping waits until bedtime unless I can sneak some arm work in.
We live in base housing which has high ceilings, but floor space is limited as things are coming off shelves in preparation for our upcoming move. When we can’t hoop in our yard or in front of the General’s house (our new favorite), I head to the aerobics room at the gym (a/c and floor to ceiling mirrors). If the gym is closed and I need to get my hoop on desperately, I will hoop in the rain…that’s a great experience.
I’m joining a gym this winter just so that I can use the aerobics room when they aren’t having class so I can hoop!
I took my hoops to the office…at first everyone was laughing, but they all wanted a turn – I think they secretly thought it was cool!!!
We got in trouble though, because the black gaffers left marks on the floor everytime someone dropped the hoop. Whoops!
First, I’m not a good hooper… I can only waist hoop and not for long.. plus i’m almost 50! (Okay, I’m 48 but I’m just trying on 50 to see how it feels LOL).. so, I hoop in my Living Room… mostly… or the back yard.. or garage.. but I now keep a hoop in my office at work and do a little hooping there too.. people loooooove to try my hoop! Then I show them some of my favorite hooping videos (like Spiral at the Earth Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OieV55-MoPc&playnext=1&videos=cbWwlUM-NZU).. yeah, they think I’m weird.. but I don’t care.. I’m slowly being able to keep it up longer and longer.. and it makes me happy… and it’s relaxing.. I love the rhythm.. and eeeevery once in a while i hit my groove for just a few moments.. and it encourages me to keep on…
hoop on!
We’re talking about getting rid of our sofa + dining room table to have more room to hoop. You know you’re a hooper when… π We’ve also cleared out our attic in hopes of making that a hoop-friendly space.
Otherwise the gym I go to is welcoming to hoops and they usually have a room available.
I hoop at the gym in the aerobics studio. It really is great. Tons of mirrors, a dance floor, and ac give a nice twist on hooping. But normally, I am out in the yard being the spectacle of my neighborhood. I have now found the same cars drive up and down. Maybe I should tell them to just pull over and watch!
I’d love to see more pictures of your little RV home with your kiddo decor. I live a similar life and I’m always looking for decor ideas π hoop on!
