hi! i’ve started to hoop 2 weeks ago inspired by your blog.
What i’ve learned so far:
– it’s fun to learn something from the zero point, something completly new.
– it’s always possible to stop 30 minutes a day and enjoy, move the body and practice, the not so easy, be in the moment, in the now.
My hoop is teaching me that anything worth really doing takes practice.
And to not be so afraid to let go in front of people. (they usually find you amazing)
How do I get into hooping?! It looks like SO MUCH FUN! Where does one even get a legit hoop? All the ones I come across are so light and flimsy and useless.
@Sarah, If you read through some of the posts you will see a great site to buy everything you need. I am unable to remember which post I read it on though sorry. x
I have always been athletic, but after becoming a first-time mama at 39 years old, I felt like my body just kinda froze up. I lost my fluidity as I went through the daily zombie-like motions of taking care of a small child, When my son turned 4 thus summer, I was alarmed when I realized how out of shape I was. A friend recommended hooping, so I gave it a try, and I am amazed at how much my body has loosened up! I’m still not even close to where I want to be, but I’m on the path, and that’s what matters.
